Pre-K is easy to do

My son's pre-K class only has 12 kids in it & I was in charge of the Valentine's party. Instead of decorating cookies or cupcakes I thought it would just be better to eat them! Also, we always have to have a craft at these parties & I hate the cheap cheesy stuff so I decided I would do something special instead. I got these aprons for $1.50 each & embroidered each child's name on them. Then a the party they got to decorate them with fabric markers. It was such a hit!!

For a friend

A friend was making a very cute baby blanket & asked me to do some embroidery on it. I don't have a picture of the full blanket, but it had the cutest big scalloped edges to match the embroidery circle.

pioneer day costumes

Costumes I made for the Pioneer Day celebration this year. The hats were very easy, the dresses took a ton of fabric & S. made the bonnets.

Young Women's

My daughter was in charge of teaching the class at her young women's class tonight & this is what the girls worked on. They are locker plaques held up with magnets with a saying. The sample I made for them had the young women's values on it. All the girls did a great job on their own & actually did most all the actual sewing on their own.

Millie Rose

Millie Rose was born during Spring Break & she joins a sister who is in my son's Kindergarten class & also a little brother. I have always loved white...it is so crisp & the pink with it makes it just so beautiful to me. I put her name centered across the top & centered between the chenille zig zag as well. The pink floral print is on the back side of the blanket & folded over here so you can see it.
I wanted to use the rose stitch for the border, but it is a really big stitch even when it is set on the smaller setting. I found out the hard way that it was hard to keep going straight since the material moves so much doing the design. So I modified the border & tried something new that turned out soooo cute. I only put the border on the 4 corners of the blanket & down to the chenille on the top. SOOOO pretty to bring in her middle name without stating it outright. I loved this blanket!

Unknown

They have yet to pick a name, but she is definitely a girl! I put the initial of her last name in the corner instead. I really liked this material!! So bright for spring. Big brother & 2 sisters are awaiting her arrival in 3 weeks by C-section. I always felt like it was so nice to have some new things just for the new child.
This is seersucker on both sides with a chenille zig zag across opposite corners. I rounded the corners as well to make it a bit more feminine--not that it needed it! I also used the circle motif on the border around the blanket. Very bright & very fun!
